Dangerous Goods
 

PLEASE NOTE: We do not carry the following Classes of Dangerous Goods: Class 1, Class 4 or Class 7

We also cannot carry any indivisible item, that weighs more than 500kgs. This is the definition of Bulk Dangerous Goods.

Dangerous Goods are substances or items which have hazardous properties which can be dangerous if handles incorrectly. Some of the consequences of mishandling are:

  • Explosion

  • Burn

  • Corrode

  • Asphyxiate

  • Poison

  • Become unstable when mixed with certain other products

 

When Dangerous Goods are handled incorrectly, they can endanger people and the environment. With this in mind, laws have been procured to ensure the safe handling and transportation of Dangerous Goods. Blacks Transport (QLD) Pty Ltd prides itself on following the conditions set by the current Australian Dangerous Goods Code. Everybody in the Logistics Chain has roles and responsibilities relative to their role:

 

CONSIGNOR

 

A Consignor must supply certain information relative to the goods being sent:

  • NAME

  • CLASS and/or SUBSIDIARY RISK

  • UN NUMBER

  • NUMBER and TYPE OF PACKAGE

  • QUANTITY

  • EMERGENCY PROCEDURE GUIDE (EPG) AND;

  • TRANSPORT DOCUMENT

 

Blacks Transport (QLD) Pty Ltd requires all of this information, listed above, before we will undertake a Dangerous Goods consignment.

 

PACKAGED GOODS

 

At Blacks Transport (QLD) Pty Ltd, we are only set up to carry packaged goods. We are not licenced to undertake the transportation of bulk Dangerous Goods. Please see the below link to the Dangerous Goods Code for a description of packaged goods:
